M. Bigot: "Il faut sauver le soldat Cornière. Cette liste de rattrapage menée par Jean-Marc Lefranc est un coup de poignard dans mon dos. J'ai refusé les arrangements qui m'ont été proposés, pour la première raison que je devais être totalement loyal avec mes colistiers auprès desquels je me suis engagé depuis un an".
M. Cornière: "Je me réjouis de la présence de ces nouveaux candidats dont l'expérience, la compétence, la proximité avec les habitants, ainsi que l'engagement sont connu de tous."
M. Costes: "N'est-ce pas un flagrant désaveu pour la municipalité sortante que d'avoir ainsi remanié leur liste......Les gens veulent que ça change, que ça bouge, et que se termine enfin l'opacité qui a régné à Grandcamp-Maisy durant ces 20 dernières années".
The three mayoral candidates responded to former mayor J-M Lefranc's late entry into the race during a public meeting organized by Mr. Bigot as reported by the newspaper, La Renaissance du Bessin. After his poor showing in the first round of the election, Mr. Cornière revamped his slate, bringing on board the former mayor and 9 other new candidates.
M. Bigot: "It's like 'Saving Private Cornière'. His newly reformed slate led by Jean-Marc Lefranc is a stab in the back. I refused several deals that were proposed for the simple reason that I am bound to be absolutely loyal to the people on my slate with whom I've been working with for the past year."
M. Cornière: "I am delighted to have all these new candidates whose experience, competence, knowledge of the town, and dedication are well known".
M. Costes: " Isn't this a sharp repudiation of the current administration to have been forced to revamp their slate? .....The voters want change, they want progress, and they want to end the lack of transparency that has been the rule during the last 20 years in Grandcamp-Maisy."
