When the snow storm ended, Didier Vaulogé went out for a tour of Grandcamp, from the Peace Statue to the harbor.Visite en images:
It is a rare event: Grandcamp woke up under a thick blanket of snow.
Bruno passed by the church, the school and a evergreen in its natural environment.
And Bertrand went to have a look along the seafront.
A fresh storm put the new pier to the test, and Bruno went out in the fierce wind to take a few pictures:
Bruno Wilmart braved rain and wind to keep us up-to-date on the progress of the reconstruction of the pier.
The deck has been completed, and, weather permitting, there is a chance that the new pier will be the Grandcopais' Christmas present.
In the mean time, the Christmas Village, in front of the old school, is waiting for the sun to shine again.
Bruno just sent us a few pictures of the new pier under reconsruction.
Despite the bad weather, the carpenters were able to add about 30 feet to the structure.
And now, it looks just like it did before!
Bruno sent us more photos of the reconstruction of the pier.
And, as promised, it looks very much like the original.
Work is progressing nicely on the new pier, as you can see in these pictures taken by Bruno Wilmart.
