Lancement de la Jolie Brise / Launching of La Jolie Brise

Le Dimanche 3 Aout, La Jolie Brise a été lancée à Port-en-Bessin, et elle a pavoisé lors de la Fête de la Mer le 16 et 17 Aout.

La Jolie Brise, c'est une chaloupe de Grandcamp.
Elle est née en 1953 aux Chantiers Longuemare: Louis et Maurice Longuemare ont construit ce petit bateau de pêche pour leur frère Charles.


Elle est revendue en 1966 à M. Pierre Boudard, puis en 1970, elle part à Port en Bessin, où M. René Ferron va l'exploiter également à la pêche.
M. Ferron la passe en plaisance 1n 1989 et la revend ensuite à M. Lemarquis en 1996.
Elle est revendue le 16/10/2007 à M. Rogoff qui la cède aussitôt à l'association L'Equipage de La Jolie Brise.
Depuis, ce groupe de volontaires a travaillé sans relâche pour la remetrre à l'eau.

Et le grand jour est enfin arrivé.

On Sunday, August 3rd, La Jolie Brise is launched in the harbor of Port-en-Bessin and takes part in the town's Festival of the Sea on August 16th and 17th.

La Jolie Brise was built by Louis et Maurice Longuemare in 1953 in their shipyard in Grandcamp for their brother Charles.

She is sold to Pierre Boudard in 1966, and again in 1970 to René Ferron and leaves for Port en Bessin. In 1989, Mr. Ferron converts it to a pleasure boat. She is once again sold, to Mr. Lemarquis in 1996. In October 2007, La Jolie Brise is bought by Dimitri Rogoff who gives it to an association of volunteers, L'Equipage de La Jolie Brise. This dedicated group of craftsmen has worked tirelessly to restore it and give it a new life on the sea.

Au mois d 'Août à Grandcamp/ August in Grandcamp

C'est le temps des vacances et Grandcamp s'anime et s'amuse.

Le 3 Août, c'était la brocante dans la Rue Aristide Briand. On y vendait un peu de tout, genre vide-greniers:

It's vacation time in Grandcamp and people are having fun.
On August 3rd, tourists and townfolks flocked to the Rue Aristide Briand to check out the wares on display at the giant flea market.

Et puis, le 10, un banc de fumée est monté de la plage: MGM (C'est Manifestations Grandcamp Maisy, à ne pas confrondre avec Metro Goldwyn Mayer) organisait un Barbecue. Le temps n'était pas particulièment estival, mais tout le monde s'est régalé avec les saucisses et les merguez cuits au feu de bois, et on a fini l'après-midi avec une partie de volley-ball, jusqu'à ce que la marée montante recouvre le sable.

And then on the 10th, smoke rose from the beach and a woodsy odor filled the air: MGM (that's Manifestations Grandcamp Maisy, not to be confused with Metro Goldwyn Mayer) organized a barbecue. The weather was not especially warm, but the sausages and merguez, cooked on a wood fire, were appreciated by all. And the afternoon ended with a round of volley-ball until the incoming tide covered the beach.
